Joseph Ray Krube
Who am I?
Joseph was born on November 22nd, of 2003 in Duluth, Minnesota, where he spent the first 7 years of his childhood. He is the son of Jeremiah and Socorro Krube, who met in Tepic Nayarit in Mexico. Like Joseph, his father grew up in Minnesota while his mother grew up in an orphanage in Mexico. Russ Krube, Jeremiah's biological father, is the superintendent of that orphanage; on visits, Jeremiah would one day meet Socorro. They fell in love and were married in 2000, having one wedding in Mexico and one in Minnesota.
In 2011, Joseph, his parents, and his three siblings moved to Hartford, Illinois, near St. Louis Missouri, to be closer to his mother's side of the family. Here, Joseph was introduced to his first schooling that wasn't from home. He attended two different Christian schools, one of which was Mississippi Valley Christian School in Alton, Illinois previously known as Western Military Academy. In hindsight, Joseph would consider himself to be shy and "socially awkward" among his peers in these early years of elementary and middle school.
Joseph attended Abundant Life Community Church in Alton Illinois. Here, he unpacked his roots in the Assemblies of God community. Despite attending several Baptist and other denominational churches, he felt most at home at a Pentecostal Assemblies of God. He considered his first real home and community to be here. He would intern over the summers, and go to all the conventions, conferences, and camps that the youth group would host.
Despite, the welcoming experience at Abundant Life, Joseph struggled through living a double life of serving both the worldly aspirations of his life as well as the church community. This foreshadowed the emotional pain he would experience in the year 2019 when his family decided to move back to Minnesota to be closer to his father's side of the family. The distance between his church family in Illinois and his new, yet familiar, home in Minnesota helped him move on.
Joseph's parents had four more children from the years of 2018 to 2022. From his new home in East Bethel, Minnesota, Joseph would discover spiritual healing and a new life. Joseph was privileged to make new friends in high school and find a new church family. He graduated in May of 2022 from St. Francis Christian School and started attending North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota (NCU) that Fall.
Joseph is currently enrolled in the Biblical and Theological Studies major at NCU and feels called to help people encounter God. Though he isn't entirely sure if he is called overseas, he presently leans prayerfully toward that possibility.
